This Treat Shop Takes the Cake!

The ALEX Tasty Treat Shop is perfect for young and aspiring bakers! It folds up flat, but, when you open it up, it is a double-sided bakeshop! One side is the bakery, covered in bright graphics of pots and pans, mixers and ovens, while the other side is the storefront, decorated with yummy looking cakes, pies, cookies and treats! There are lots of colorful paper board ingredients and baked goodies included. You also get a plastic measuring cup and spoons, a mixing bowl and a wire whisk.

We had one of Lori’s favorite classmates, Madison, over for a play date and the girls had so much fun playing with it!

Madison was the baker first. She put on the included kid-sized, hot pink apron and bakers hat and got to work while the girls waited on other side of the shop for the yummy treats. The pretend cake was delicious – nice work Madison!

Then the girls decorated the front of their bakeshop with the included stickers, which display different types of pies and cookies that are for sale. Everyone took turns being the baker and the customer and enjoyed “tasting” all the fresh baked goods!

Why I love this toy:

  • Great for make believe fun!
  • Bright and whimsical illustrations really make this pretend kitchen stand out from others
  • Packs flat: it has two sides to play with, but it quikly folds up and fits nicely into the box for storage when you are done.

Do you know someone sweet who would enjoy pretending to bake some tasty treats?

  1. This looks like brilliant fun. It looks as though this would provide endless fun for the kids! Love that its flatpack which means it doesnt take up too much room when its not being played with !

  2. Holly,
The girls really did have a great time playing with it! So glad you like it, thanks for the comment -keep em’ comming!
    Have a fun day,

  3. Can you tell me, do the food items need to be assembled? What are they made of?

    • Amy,
Sure thing! The food items are made out of paperboard, they are pre-cut and have adhesive already on them. All that is need to assemble them is to remove the backing on the adhesive strips and fold on the pre-creased lines. It took me less than 10 minutes to put it all together, and you only have to do it one time. Hope this helps!
