Who needs an excuse to eat candy? Not me! But if you do, National Candy Day is right around the corner on November 4th. Speaking about candy, ALEX has teamed up with Dylan’s Candy Bar to launch an awesome new line of candy-themed kits and I knew the Yumbrella would appeal to Lori’s sweet tooth.

She was extremely excited when I handed her the box! Not only did she get a new umbrella, but this one is covered in adorable candy artwork. It has a pink handle and comes with six permanent markers to color the candy designs. She couldn’t wait to get started!

I thought it might be hard for Lori to color on the umbrella surface because it wasn’t flat, but she didn’t have a problem at all. In fact, she really spent a lot of time carefully coloring it all in. This kept her attention for a good portion of the afternoon. Once she completed it, she needed to take it outside and try it out (even though it wasn’t raining).

She absolutely loved this project! The six bright markers that came with it are permanent so when she uses it on a day when it’s actually raining all her hard work won’t wash away. Sweet!

Why I love this toy:

  • This art project is a fully functioning umbrella that can be used on rainy days!
  • The candy artwork is sure to appeal to any girl.

Have you visited Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City?

What is your favorite type of candy? We love jellybeans in our house 🙂
